We’re pleased to announce our theme here at Peace Hub from now until the Christmas break:
Our Shared Environment: let’s celebrate and protect the places we love.
Our local environment is something we can all share and enjoy together. But the spaces we love are under threat from issues such as air pollution, poor waste management and loss of green spaces. Together we can take action to protect and improve our shared environment. You can pop in to share your favourite local spaces, and join Friends of the Earth’s ‘A Breath of Fresh Air’ campaign to improve air quality in the city.
By protecting our local environment and supporting others around the world to do the same, our efforts can add up to face the challenges of climate change. As the latest UN climate talks happen this November, we can all help to keep the pressure on governments to stick to the promises they made in Paris in 2015. We’ve got a special event on Tuesday 24th October: join us at 12pm for a live Skype with a Quaker United Nations Office delegate ahead of the international climate talks in Bonn.
So, pop into Peace Hub between October and Christmas 2017 to:
- Find out more & have your say
- Add local place you love to our interactive map
- Sign the Friends of the Earth petition on air pollution
