It’s the final week of our Live, Love, Learn theme, but there are plenty of ways you can keep taking action to promote education for all.
Thanks to everyone who’s written a message of solidarity for the Afghan Peace Volunteers (APVs) and their Borderfree Street Kids school. You can continue to support the APVs, by joining their ‘Global Days of Listening’, broadcast online on 21st of every month.
You can also take action with A World at School, whose #SafeSchools campaign is promoting access to education for children affected by conflict and natural disaster.
And check out the work of the Malala Fund promoting equal education for girls and boys. You can also read Malala Yousafai’s book ‘I am Malala’ in the Peace Hub Library.
Here in the West Midlands, you can support the work of our sister organisation Peacemakers. If you have a connection to a local school, why not encourage them to bring in Peacemakers, to train the children and adults in peer-mediation, conflict resolution and being a peaceful community.
Or you could buy a copy of Peacemakers’ new book ‘Learning for Peace’ and donate it to your nearest school. It’s got loads of practical activities to help with children’s spiritual, moral, social and cultural education.
