As part of our Live, Love, Learn theme, we’re highlighting the work of the Afghan Peace Volunteers (APVs) using education to rebuild hope through their Borderfree Street Kids school.
You can send a message of solidarity to show support for their efforts and help them keep going.
Pop into Peace Hub any weekday between 11:00 and 14:30 to find out more about the work that the Borderfree Street Kids school does, and to take part in our solidarity action.
A good education means…
A right to education means…
Write your message to finish one of these sentences – you can write sentences, words, or draw an image.
The Afghan Peace Volunteers wear blue scarves, so write your message on a blue card to show your support. We’ll display your ideas in the Hub, before sending them on to the Borderfree school.
Sending a friendly message might not seem like much, but when you are faced with very challenging circumstances, knowing that you have the support and goodwill of people around the world can be a huge boost to persevere and keep working. The AVPs have said of previous solidarity messages they’ve recieved: “Yak jahan tashakur !” It is Dari, one of the two official Afghan languages and means: “A world of thanks!”
