Join us in Telford tomorrow

Peace Hub will be closed tomorrow (Weds 20th Nov) as we join in witness against the Telford arms fair – join us!

We will be gathering alongside Quakers, CAAT, Extinction Rebellion, Palestine Solidarity and others in non-violent protest, starting at 11am, with a programme throughout the day until 4pm, including street theatre, drumming, speakers and faith contributions.

All are welcome to join, and say ‘no to weapons’ and ‘yes to peace’. The International Centre is near to Telford train station – there is a train that arrives at 10:31, in time to join the witness for 11am.  If you would like to travel together from Birmingham please contact us.

What is the Telford Arms Fair?

The SDSC arms fair (full name Specialist Defence & Security Convention UK) focuses on military equipment for front-line infantry soldiers.

It will include exhibitors from a number of arms companies, including those deeply complicit in the Israeli genocide of Palestinians in Gaza, such as:

Ultra Electronics has been granted numerous arms export licences to Israel by the UK Government and has been involved in the development of the F35 warplane.

Elbit Systems – manufacturer of bombs, mortars and drones, and Israel’s largest privately held arms company

L3 Harris – maker of surveillance, night vision and targeting equipment and supplier of bomb release mechanisms for Israel’s F35 aircraft, which has been confirmed as being involved in the deaths of civilians in Gaza

Join us to say ‘no to arms, yes to peace’.
