The West Midlands Violence Reduction Partnership (VRP) brings people together to reduce violence, vulnerability and exploitation in our region.
They are doing a survey to help better understand how people feel about current levels of youth violence in the West Midlands. The idea is to listen to communities and use this information to support the reduction and prevention of violence. In particular the survey aims to get a better understanding of:
- How people perceive serious youth violence across the West Midlands;
- How you react to serious youth violence across the West Midlands;
- How you feel organisations like the VRP should be responding to this issue;
- How faith and communities can be a part of exploring solutions to this issue, and the issues associated with it.
Pop in to find out more
As part of our theme Peaceful Brum, you can pop into Peace Hub throughout August to chat about these issues and take the survey. On Weds 23rd and Weds 30th August between 12 and 2pm members of the VRP team will be around to chat – they also have some new virtual reality tools to help young people understand the issues, which they’ll be happy to show you.
The Survey: Why, How, Where?
The West Midlands Violence Reduction Partnership explain further about the survey and how your data will be handled:
Why are we doing this survey?
We are doing this survey to help better understand how people feel about current levels of youth violence in the West Midlands. We want to listen to communities and use this information to support the reduction and prevention of violence.
How will your response be used and the data be handled?
All information you give in response to the questions will be made anonymous. This means that we will not share the details of your participation with anyone. To protect your identity, if you choose to give us personal data for the prize draw, this information will be held separately to your question response information. This personal data will be used only for the purpose of the prize draw and deleted after this purpose has been fulfilled. Information from participants will be entered into databases for analysis and stored on encrypted and password protected computers. All data will be stored according to the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioners privacy policy and treated in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. You will not be identifiable through any of the following reports.
Where can I find out more?
The information you provide to us in the survey will be collected and analysed to give a picture of how communities across the West Midlands feel about youth violence, and develop an understanding of how faith and community groups can be part of the solution.
