We are pleased to announce that our theme for January & February 2020 at Peace Hub is: Be the Friendly Face of Brum – how can we welcome refugees & asylum seekers?
Refugees are fleeing from danger in their home country and come to Britain to ask for safety. Sadly, they face a ‘hostile environment’ from those in power.
From putting people in detention centres when they haven’t done anything wrong, to charging excessive fees to be stuck in limbo, government policy is not treating people humanely.
But local communities are proving that we’re better than this.
How can we show that Brum is a welcoming city, proud to be a place of sanctuary?

- Have your say;
- Take a photo with the ‘New Union Flag’;
- Show solidarity with people rescuing refugees in the Mediterranean.
