Show Someone you Care: Share a Smile 😀

Throughout 2017 we have collaborated with Peacemakers (West Midlands Quaker Peace Education Project) to run a series of Junior Peacemakers workshops for schools.

How can we build peace in Birmingham? …was the question we put to our team of Junior Peacemakers. They have created a poster to share their message to the people of Birmingham for this festive season. The poster will be on display inside  Birmingham buses for one month from 11th December – look out for it behind the foot of the stairs on selected bus routes.

If you do spot the poster, take a picture & let us know!

The poster campaign is the result of a series of workshops that have helped to build a team of Junior Peacemakers in nine schools across Birmingham.  The children have learned how to make a difference in their communities, and developed skills including presentation skills and enabling dialogue and debate with peers. The year-long programme culminated with four of the schools coming together to share with each other the peacemaking actions they had taken in their school and local communities, and to add their design ideas for the poster.

We are currently working on plans for future Junior Peacemakers workshops, so if you know a school who might be interested, do get in touch: info@peacemakers.org.uk
