Thanks to everyone involved in Rajagopal’s visit to Birmingham last week, which was a great success.
Rajagopal (of Indian land rights organisation Ekta Parishad) met with community activists from the West Midlands, at Peace Hub in a special event ahead of our opening on Monday 10th November. Representatives of Action Village India, Birmingham City Council Culture Commissioning, Central England Quakers, Citizens UK, Peace Hub and Selly Oak Community Development Trust discussed the current challenges facing activists, and reflected on how we could support one another in empowering our communities to take action.
In the afternoon, a Peace Walk around the city centre stopped off at Peace Hub, before meeting Birmingham’s Lord Mayor and investigating war poetry from the archives of the Library of Birmingham.
Peace Hub is a place for community activists and members of the public interested in peace and justice to come together at events like this. So if you ‘re interested in connect ing with like-minded groups please get in touch .
