On Monday 27 October, Rajagopal P.V. will make a visit to Birmingham, including a stop at Peace Hub.
Lawyer, agriculturalist and classical Indian dancer, Rajagopal founded what is now Indiaʼslargest nonviolent land rights organisation. Ekta Parishad (Unity Forum) is almost twenty five years old and draws its membership from tribal and landless farmers. Rajagopal has gained international recognition for his persistent, Gandhian-savvy activism (a mix of walking and negotiation) to significantly change Indiaʼs national policy on land distribution.
You can join Rajagopal at 3 public events on 27th October:
- An informal lunch 1- 2pm at Natural Choice cafe in the Food Loft at the Pavilions Shopping Centre B4 7SL.
- A Peace Walk, 2.15 – 3.45pm, following the Birmingham City Centre Peace Trail from Natural Choice cafe to the Library of Birmingham, via Peace Hub.
- A public meeting where Rajagopal will discuss Ekta
