24th Oct 2017, 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm
at The Priory Rooms, BirminghamMEET Lindsey Fielder Cook – Quaker United Nations Office (QUNO) Climate Change representative
In 2015, at the Paris Climate summit (COP21) governments at the UN set surprisingly ambitious targets to reduce carbon emmissions, and restrict global warming to 1.5 degrees centigrade. This November (6th-17th) governments will convene in Bonn, Germany for COP23 (chaired by Fiji), to discuss next steps in putting the Paris agreement into practice.
Join this live Skype discussion with Lindsey Fielder Cook in the run up to COP23 in Bonn. Discussion will include:
- What’s on the COP23 agenda?
- What role will QUNO be playing?
- How can we support participants?
Followed by sandwiches and informal discussion at 1pm. (Please let us know if you would like sandwiches: office@peacehub.org.uk )
Part of Peace Hub’s theme ‘Our Shared Environment’ in conjunction with Footsteps – Faiths for a Low Carbon Future.
