Loving Earth Textiles Exhibition

Loving Earth Textiles Exhibition

20th Sep 2021 – 30th Sep 2021, All Day

at Peace Hub, Birmingham

The Loving Earth Project celebrates people, places, creatures, and other things that we love but which are threatened by growing environmental breakdown. Individuals and groups have been invited to explore how the future of something, someone, or somewhere that we love is affected by our own actions, and in response create a textile panel.

Selected panels from Loving Earth Textile project will be exhibited in Peace Hub’s shop-window during Great Big Green Week (18th-26th September).  The panels have been created by local Quakers, and contacts in Uganda through the Hope Project. The international links are important as the textile project will be exhibited in Glasgow, which is hosting the COP26 conference and where the global community will be urged to take action on the Climate Emergency.

You can view the exhibition in the window on Bull St for an extra week throughout 27th – 30th September.  The Hub itself will be open for you to drop in and explore the issues further 11am-5pm on Tuesday 28th, Wednesday 29th and Thursday 30th September.

The Loving Earth Project has been supported by: Quaker Arts Network, Westhill Endowment
and the Edith M Ellis Trust.
