Keep Taking Action for Economic Equality

Our theme Think Global, Act Local, Get Equal is coming to an end, but there are still plenty of ways to take action:

  • If you haven’t had the chance to sign one of our action cards on ‘make your money work for good‘, you can still pop into Peace Hub and find out more until Thursday.
  • And if you’re interested in exploring these ideas more deeply (esp. from a faith perspective) join our Ethical Money Churches workshop on Sat 11th May.
  • Meanwhile, you can support the local economy here in Brum by choosing independent businesses where you can: the Independent Birmingham website is great place to start discovering local gems.
  • And you can support UK companies that do pay their fair share by looking out for the Fair Tax Mark.
  • Thinking globally, Fairtrade is great way to make sure farmers and producers in the developing world get a fair deal: pop into Peace Hub for Fairtrade drinks & snacks.
  • If you’re interested in exploring the issue of economic equality further, ‘Building the New Economy’ is a handy set of booklets to get you started, created by Quaker Peace & Social Witness. There are hard-copies available at the Hub.

As always you can pop into Peace Hub for a chat about any of these topics, and browse our Resource Library for handy materials.

Next up, our theme is Be the Friendly Face of Brum! Drop by during May & June 2019 to find out more.
