2nd Sep 2019 - 8th Sep 2019, All Dayat ExCel Centre, London
For four days in September 2019, the international weapons industry plans to set up shop in London at a huge arms fair, DSEI.
According to Campaign Against Arms Trade:
“DSEI last took place in September 2017, and featured 1,500 exhibitors from around the world, displaying arms ranging from sniper rifles to tanks to combat aircraft to warships. They were joined by trade visitors and military delegations, including those from human rights abusing regimes and countries involved in conflict.”
In 2017, hundreds of people took part in a huge week of action to disrupt the set up of the arms fair: and this year we will be back to say ‘no’ to this deadly trade.
A week of action has been called for the 2 – 8 September 2019, and people from across the country will be taking a stand.
Quakers will be particularly active on Tuesday 3rd September, when the focus of the protest is No Faith in War. For Quakers who are not able to make it in person, there will be a meeting for worship in solidarity at 2pm that day at the Peace Hub.
Pop into Peace Hub to find out more about the arms fair and how can stand up against it.
