28th Apr 2018, 10:00 amat starting at Cannon Hill Park, Birmingham
An event organised by our friends at Carrs Lane Lived Community, and supported by Peace Hub.
“Share the Journey” is a walk of witness and solidarity with and for Refugees and Asylum Seekers, supported by a wide range of local organisations involved in welcoming, supporting and campaigning for the rights of those who have had to flee their homes.
Walking from Cannon Hill Park (meet outside the MAC to depart at 10am) to the city centre, we will stop several times on the way for short moments of prayer and reflection.
The aim of walking together is to publicly affirm our solidarity with all those, throughout the world, who are forced by war, violence, persecution and poverty to be “on the move”; as well as to create a space to say to those who are making their home in our city ‘you are welcome here.’
(Further details of the route and timings will be available soon for those who are only able to join us for part of the walk.)
