Peace Hub open for YMG visitors

Peace Hub open for YMG visitors

2nd Aug 2017, 11:00 am – 6:00 pm

at Peace Hub, Birmingham

Yearly Meeting is when Quakers in Britain come together to worship, make decisions and spend time as a community. Yearly Meeting Gathering (YMG) 2017 will be held from 29 July—5 August at the University of Warwick, on the outskirts of Coventry.

The Wednesday of YMG (2nd Aug) is an activity day, where you can explore the West Midlands.  If you decide to come to Birmingham that day, Peace Hub will be open for you to pop in and find out about the work we’re doing on behalf of Central England Area Meeting for Peace & Justice.

Drop into the Hub on Bull St any time between 11am and 6pm to see our display & actions for the Our Shared Future theme, have a chat with our lovely volunteers and browse our library.  You can also take the opportunity to grab a cup of tea and a sit down: the Hub is situated in the heart of Birmingham, so is a good stop off point if you’re going to visit the cathedral, library or other city-centre attractions.  You can also take a look at Bull Street Quaker Meeting House next door, a 1930s meeting house modelled on Friends House.

And if you’re at the gathering on the Tuesday (1st Aug) why not check out our workshop ‘Creating Space for Conversation’, 4pm in Humanities 3.55.  If you haven’t booked for YMG yet, you can do so online.
