Junior Peacemakers: A Sense of Belonging – Welcoming Refugees & Asylum Seekers

Junior Peacemakers: A Sense of Belonging – Welcoming Refugees & Asylum Seekers

21st Jun 2019, 9:45 am – 2:30 pm

at Peace Hub, Birmingham

Both sessions are now fully booked – we look forward to welcoming the schools.

We are delighted to be joining up once again with Peacemakers to host a free workshop for primary schools (Years 5 or 6).

The theme of this term’s Junior Peacemakers workshops is: A Sense of Belonging – Welcoming Refugees & Asylum Seekers.

  • We will explore how and why refugees & asylum seekers make their journeys to the West Midlands.
  • We will think about what it means to have a sense of belonging.
  • We will discuss what it means to be an active citizen and the welcome we can offer in our schools and communities.

The workshops are for 4 pupils and a member of staff (two if required) from each school.  We have spaces for 3 schools on each day.  Priority is given to schools who have not attended a Junior Peacemakers workshop before.
